Product Questions & Answers

Richard C.
A:BEST ANSWERHi Richard, I'm glad to assist you. Here are some general steps to remove it: 1. Remove the ignition lock cylinder: Insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it to the "on" position. Look for a small pinhole near the base of the lock cylinder. Insert a small screwdriver or pin into the hole and then pull the lock cylinder out. 2. Install the new lock cylinder: Insert the new lock cylinder into the housing and turn it to the "on" position. Ensure that the lock cylinder is properly aligned and then press it into place. 3. Reinstall the ignition switch: Install the ignition switch and tighten the bolts that hold it in place. Reconnect the wiring harness to the switch. I hope this helps. Show less

Q:My key suddenly wouldn’t turn to start and was stuck difficult to remove.  Investigation reveals the lock cylinder will not turn for unknown reasons.  Behind it is the switch with the usual slotted switch that can be turned with a slot screwdriver but when turned will turn the motor over but it will not start.  Is this an anti theft design and if so can I buy a new lock cylinder only.  This is ab2003 element a work truck if you will.   Thanks in advance. ? Show Less
