Q:Where is the plastic line at under the plug is it center or offset ?
Brent P.
A:BEST ANSWERHi Brent, One rib is in the center and the other is offset to the side. Be sure and double-check to press down on the top of the coil until you feel it seated well on the plug. Doesn't hurt to spray some contact cleaner on the connections while you are there. Very easy to install. Show less

Shopping for BMW 335xi Parts

Your BMW 335xi belongs to a lineup of icons—the BMW 3 Series. With its legendary design, dynamic engineering, leading technology, unmatched safety, and a driving experience that's tailored to your preferences, there's no doubt that this icon continues to live on and remains as BMW's most popular series. Owning a 335xi means experiencing the ultimate thrills, and if you want to continue enjoying that, you have to exert extra effort to make it stay that way. Here are some tips to help you maintain the perfection of your ultimate driving machine:

  • Check your tires often.

The tires are your BMW's only contact point with the road, so it is but right that you keep them in tiptop condition. What could be a better way to do that than regularly inspecting their condition and pressure? Tire pressure can easily be monitored through a portable gauge, but if your BMW is among the latest models outfitted with a tire pressure monitoring system, you just have to be mindful of the signals and readings given out by such system, and you're good to go. However, the system needs to be initialized every time the tire pressure is adjusted. Even tread wear now becomes so easy for you to monitor as your BMW is also fitted with tread wear indicators, so you just have to give a few seconds of your time each week to find out if the wear indicators are already visible, which means your tires are due for replacement. It's also wise to conduct wheel alignment during oil service.

  • Maintain the engine's efficiency.

Changing your engine oil isn't a task—it is a must. You see, the pistons in the engine work at immense speed, so they must be well lubricated to maintain their efficiency. Besides topping up the engine oil to be sure that it stays above the minimum level, make sure that you also check its quality because buildup of impurities can cause damage to the engine components. Check your owner's manual for your change-oil schedule and interval and stick to that. Also keep tabs on the condition of your engine belts and replace them as soon as you notice looseness, cracks, or other types of damage that could make the belt inefficient.

  • Take care of the paintwork.

Besides performance, perfection always includes outer beauty, so make it a point to keep your 335i as gorgeous as when it's new. While regular cleaning is the best way to protect the vehicle's exterior from long-term wear and tear, your efforts shouldn't end there. After your car wash, the carmaker recommends that you protect your paint with a BMW seal and protect or other brand of protectants so long as it does the same job and doesn't cause any harm on the car's finish. Steer clear from alcohol- or solvent-based cleaning agents as they can ruin your car's paint.

  • Look after your car's battery.

Yes, your car's battery will deteriorate over time, but you can maximize its lifespan to get your money's worth. You may not know it, but exposure to excessively high temperature, like when you leave your car parked under the sun, can trim down your battery's life. So if possible, always park your ride in the shade. Also avoid excessive or sustained use of electrical components in your car while the engine isn't running. Doing so is a surefire way of depleting your battery's stored power. And if the battery is drained, do not attempt to drive your BMW 335i without charging the battery. It's also a good practice to switch off all your ride's onboard electronics and devices before shutting off the engine.
