Oe Solutions Series Variable Timing Solenoid, 4, 2.4
Works perfectly, great for RSX Type-S
First off, a little research and part number comparison will let you know that THIS is the correct part for an Acura RSX Type-S. It is shared with the 2.4L motor on the TSX. The part that APW and every other parts store wants to sell you for the RSX actually only fits the base model. Now, with that out of the way, the part seems to be working perfectly. It showed up fast, clean, and vacuum packed in a plastic bag, and it also included the necessary gasket. It does say "made in China" on it, so take that for what it's worth. It also doesn't include the heat shield, so I had to transfer that from the old part (it's one screw, no biggie). Before swapping in this part I was getting intermittent CELs related to the VTEC system, so I won't really be sure that this part has fixed the problem until I've gone a few months without my car throwing a code. However, immediately after installing I took the car out and ran it up the redline and nothing bad happened, so that's good! One very minor issue is that the connector for the pressure switch was not clocked to the same location as the original part. As a result, if I ever want to remove the connector the little press-button-tab is now wedged up against the heat shield. To get it off in the future I'll have to either remove the heat shield or use a small flat-head screwdriver to release the wiring harness connector. Not worth docking a star for, but it is an overlooked detail vs. the OEM part.
