I have a 06 mustang gt. I can be driving and my car just goes in lymph mode. I have to turn it off and back on for it to run right again. I replaced the throttle actuator and it quit cutting out on me for a Lil bit. Now doing it again. My question is what is the difference in a throttle actuator and the throttle position assembly?? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? ThanksA shopperJan 28, 2021

The throttle actuator is used to control engine power by regulating the amount of air inflow into the engine. The TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) checks the amount of air/fuel mixture being delivered to the engine. We highly recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to determine what part needs replacement.

Best Answer:Hi Dayton, I'm pleased to assist you. After replacing the throttle body position sensor, if the engine light is still on and has a pending code, the code will go away. If the code was a hard permanent code, then the ECM (computer) would need a hard reset. The engine light will go out and clear all codes as it goes into a learning cycle.
