Some modifications needed
It appears to have finally worked. I have to check the blind spot functionality. They metal mounting bracket was of incorrect design. It has an additional metal piece that would not allow the mirror to sit flush. I only realized well into the repair and needed to cut the piece off with a multi-tool and metal blade. Very annoying having to awkwardly suspend everything, cut, and blow the metal dust off the part. Do a seriously close side by side comparison before beginning installation. The final fit and finished looks quite good for the lower price paid then OEM. ps. There is no rubber grommet on the wire where it passes through the metal door frame. I re-used my old one but had to slice it to get it around the new wire. Use a little silicone caulk too.
