The StrongArm lift support is made from a chromium-plated hardened steel rod and glossy finish heavy gauge steel body. It is designed with self-cleaning orifice that keeps the piston area free of contaminants, reduces clogging and prevents lock up.

Tailgate lifts
I have to change my review, I put them in in the summer and they worked just fine. I live in MN, when the cold cane they became absolutely worthless they will not hold the tailgate up at all might as well not even have them.
