My experience - the ball brackets that are provided are not sturdy enough. Upon closing the rear lift gate of my 2001 Jeep Cherokee, the bracket bent to the point that the socket popped off. Not functional for my application. Perhaps okay on different body types that may create a slightly different angle when the lift gate closes?
On a positive note, the hydrolics did seem to have good lift/support power. Sufficient for the weight of the lift gate.
