My 1995 Lexus LS400 will crank then when I turn it off it won't crank. Bought new battery it still crank sometimes then sometimes it won't.  Did a code check got p1600 ecm batt malfunction...replaced positive battery cable end. Also report said replace service interval light... Could this part (ignition module) be the reason it's not starting once I turn it off...and try to turn it back on...???Barbara P.Feb 17, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Barbara, I'm pleased to assist you. The Ignition Module controls the firing of the ignition coil/s so it can create the voltage the spark plugs need to ignite the air/fuel mixture in the engine cylinder. Since you already replaced the battery and cable, there could be other reasons why the crank is failing. Could be the alternator, crankshaft position sensor, connector corrosion, defective starter, or ECM lost stored parameters. We suggest consulting a certified mechanic for real-time diagnosis to determine what needs replacement.
