My plow truck quit running while plowing my yard this winter, it just died like it was out of gas. In sub-zero weather I was able to determine I had no spark. The coil was showing worn, so I replaced it to no avail. After some research which was enough for me to figure that maybe it was the ICM (ignition control module) though most of the symptoms didn't exist, check engine light, backfiring, nothing except that it had quit running and there was no spark. I tested the power to the coil and there was power. I started looking for the pricing on an ICM, (do to the nature of my business I do a lot of online shopping.) I had seen <a href="http://CarParts.com," target="_blank">CarParts.com,</a> but had not used them. They had the ICM listed for 16 bucks plus tax and shipping. I told myself well, if it is that cheap lets look at the local places like O'rielly's and Napa. I live in rural America, farm country, the town where I have my business has a population of less then 8k, and in a 50 mile radius there are only 45k most living in a college town 45 miles away. Anyway when I checked the pricing at the local stores both wanted over 100 bucks for the part and one wouldn't even let me choose the store that is 3 miles from my shop. In the middle of snow storm they wanted me to drive 70+ miles to get the part. My truck had already been down awhile so I ordered from CarParts, I wasn't paying those outrageous marked up prices and driving through a snow storm risking my life for some box store. I took 3 days and I had the part, out to my truck sitting in snow in the yard to see if it worked. Yep, as soon as I got the part in an easy replacement, I turned the key and my truck roared to life. I was so happy, to be able to clear my driveway 1/8 of mile and not have to park at the end and walk in. Thank you CarParts for decent pricing, fast shipment and the correct part to getting back up and running.
