Will this fit a 2008 Ford Escape XLT and be able to tow a Uhaul auto transport trailer?Josh S.Apr 02, 2021

I'm glad to help you out. Yes, this class III hitch definitely fits the 2008 Ford Escape. But connecting a U-Haul Auto Transport trailer will depend on the type of engine the Ford Escape has. Having the V6 model will definitely help with the towing capability. Also, the transport trailer's empty weight is 2,210 lbs., and its max load capacity is 5,290 lbs., which would be a total of 7,500 lbs. combined, depending on the type of vehicle to be loaded. Unfortunately, the maximum gross trailer weight of this hitch is only 5000 lbs. with a 350 lbs. max tongue weight. We would suggest a class IV hitch that has a rated carrying weight of around 10,000 lbs. with a 1400 lbs. max tongue weight if you are planning to use a U-Haul Auto Transport trailer.
