little sturdier, but really, damage totally done in the

Replacement headlight assebly
The 97 Mercury headlights were fogged with age and some of the reflective material was gone. The new headlights are crystal clear and fully reflective. A few of the retaining clips were corroded and difficult to remove. 3 replacement clips with tax from the Ford dealership were an additional $16. The first installation inadvertently detached the vent tube. The first rain placed about 2 tablespoons of water inside the light. The new light was removed, water poured out, and left in the sun to dry for a few hours. The vent tube was super-glued in place, and the light re-installed. It looks great.
