I have a 2006 Volkwagen Passat 3.6. It says that the fuel pump "fits perfectly"; however, it does NOT fit. I should be able to separate the pump to install it, but a snap ring prevents me from separating it. If I remove the snap ring, then I cannot re-attach the snap ring. Should I remove the snap and leave it off? It does not sound logical to have the pump separated in the tank.
