Yes, it comes with it. As per checking, ACDELCO shows on it's product specification- "Most strainers are placed inside the module to help reduce the chance of puncture".

Gm Original Equipment Series Fuel Pump Electric With Fuel Sending Unit 6, 4.3
Even the box says "Genuine GM".
I won't take a chance on a cheap fuel pump. This is an OEM upgraded pump but is a perfect fit. My suggestion: Get a new lock ring and a couple more salmon colored connectors before you start the job.
