Returns Policy : 30-Day Return PolicyThe Ford Crown Victoria-or Crown Vic as it is affectionately called-is a very common sight on American roads. It is one of the most commonly used cars by police forces around the country. Hopefully your experience with the Crown Vic is limited to looking to it for comfort and safety, rather than fleeing it in terror. Now, one of the things that make the Vic iconic is its fenders. True, it might seem like a small consideration, but imagine the venerable Vic-or any automobile for that matter-without a nice set of fenders, and you know what we're talking about. That they protect your wheel wells and wheels from flying debris also means that your fenders are worth taking care of.
Clean beyond clean.
Sure, everyone who's anyone knows how to "clean" a car. But it's one thing to splash soap and water onto a car's body, and completely another to actually make sure that things are truly taken care of. When cleaning your fenders, you start out-yes-with a lot of soap and water. If you want to make sure that the fenders stay clean and look really good, you then dry them off and apply a coat of wax. Not just any wax, mind you. While it cost a teensy bit more, it does wonders to use weatherproof wax. After all, the fenders on your Crown Vic-and the rest of it, really-will be exposed to a whole lot of weather. Apart from discoloration and cracking of the paint, these external forces also weaken the fenders significantly.
Deal with the damage.
Another thing that you have to conscientiously do is deal with any damage on your fenders as soon as they happen. Even the smallest bit of damage can grow bigger and wreck your fender if left un-dealt-with. Cracks are the most common. Once you spot one, apply some epoxy putty to the area inside the fender. This will seal that crack up and not break the exterior look of your ride.
