Best Answer:Hi Al, I'm glad to help you out. Some symptons of a bad Diesel particulate filter would cause the following as stated below. I hope this helps.
1. Increased idle speed.
2. Cooling fans running.
3. A slight increase in fuel consumption.
4. Increased idle speed.
5. Deactivation of automatic Stop/Start.
6. A hot, acrid smell from the exhaust.
Still, it is best to have your vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for an accurate diagnostic and repair.

Best Answer:Hello! It is more common for the DEF nozzle or NOx sensor to fail, but it can be a bit difficult to diagnose without proper diagnostic software. I would recommend having a certified mechanic diagnose the problem before ordering parts!
