I fought a direct fit carpet for a 1958 Studebaker silver hawk with bucket seats. Started by taking the seats and seat belts out. Put the front 1/2 section in and it fit like it should. Had to trim the width and cut holes for the seat and seat belt mounts but that was expected. Went to put the back 1/2 in and that's wear the problem was. Their are two factory relief areas in the floor pan one on each side behind the bucket seats so the rear passengers feet can go under the back edge of the bucket seats. They measure 15*7*4. If you stretch the carpet from side panel to side panel it bridges across the holes. And it looks great but when you get in the backseat and put your feet on the floor they fit down in those reliefs and it pulls the carpet out from behind the side panels so was not made to fit the rear this car.
