Pleasantly surprised, great fit, correct color black
I knew this wouldn't be quite as nice as the $400+ VW part, but it is great for the money. The VW part is piano black. This one is painted so you can see a slight texture, but the color is perfect. Super deep black. There was a little bit of warping on the top 2 slats due to packaging, which could be fixed if they looked into it. I put it out in the sun and used a clamp to get them a bit straighter. Once installed it looks amazing and the fit is perfect. I don't notice any warping or texture. In fact it looks nicer than the other grills on the car because it's newer. I finished it with a coat of polish. If my car was newer I might go with the VW part just because, but it's 10 yrs old now, 80k miles and not as perfect as it once was. Also worried that it could easily happen again anytime (hit a raccoon) and I wouldn't want to replace a $400 part every time. I am quite picky about my cars and I am happy with this part as of now.
