I see that many reviews from people who have had the same problem with their new power stop drilled and slotted rotors. Best Answer:Hi J, I'm glad to be of assistance to you. Manufacturers of rotors tend to put a thin layer of grease on the rotors before shipping them out to prevent rust buildup. This layer should be cleaned off before you install the rotors onto the car. To remove grease and other metal particles that would cause squeal and clicking noise. Also, all new brake pads and rotors must be "bedded-in." Bedding in, breaking in, or burnishing - are all terms for conditioning new disc brake pads and rotors to maximize performance.
