The much waited “baby Bronco” is set to debut in April, roughly a month after the real Bronco arrives. But Ford is no longer keeping the model under wraps as it shared the first photos of the model.

Presumed to carry the Bronco Sport nameplate, photos of the vehicle started circulating online when a post on the Bronco Sport Forum showed pictures of the model that will be debuting next month.

The “baby Bronco” noticeably has a bold “Bronco” script across the grille, round headlights, a boxy shape, roof rails, and more ground clearance than the Escape, which was used as its inspiration. It also features a unibody platform similar to the 2020 Ford Escape and is expected to use the same powertrains that run Iit.

The standard engine is expected to be a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, while a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder will be optional. Additionally, a hybrid powertrain will also be offered sometime in the future and is expected to be the same naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four and electric motor found on the Escape hybrid.

The 2021 model is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year and is believed to be available for less than $30,000.
