With minivan sales continuing to slow down in the United States, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles made the decision to release a new Dodge Voyager for the 2020 model year as a Chrysler Pacifica.

On June 27, FCA unveiled the 2020 Dodge Voyager that will replace the lower trim levels of the Chrysler Pacifica. This does not, however, mean the end for the minivan range as the brand insists it is keeping the Chrysler Pacifica Grand Caravan despite low sales numbers.

The new Voyager comes with the L and LX trims and is also reportedly getting a fleet exclusive LXi trim in the future.

For now, both the L and LX trims are both packed with a 3.5-inch display in the gauge cluster, Uconnect 4 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The SiriusXM satellite radio, however, is only offered on the LX trim.

The Dodge Voyager for model year 2020 will be a Chrysler Pacifica.

In terms of furnishings, the L trim has a second-row bench, while the LX type is fitted with regular seats. A Stow ‘n’ Go storage option is not available for the second-row seats, though, and is only offered for the third-row bench.

For additional features, a safety package is available as an add-on for both trims. This includes rear parking sensors and blind spot monitoring. The LX trims can also get an optional cold-weather package for heated seats and steering wheel.

The 2020 Dodge Voyager, given that it’s still a Pacifica, runs on the same 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that makes 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It’s also, still, a front-wheel-drive with the nine-speed automatic transmission, while fuel economy is approximately at 19 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg in highway driving. Prices for the new Dodge Voyager, however, are still to be announced.
