You can go for the tape-on kind of window visor, as the in-channel unit can rip the tint. It puts more stress on the window frame, and this can affect the tint of the window. As added benefits, the tape-on window visor is easy to install and won’t affect the window’s operation in any way.
Yes, it’s possible to have the visor installed without using the set of clips that comes with it, but you might just end up annoyed as the visor may loosen every now and then. Alternatively, you can use double-sided tape to secure the visor in place. Put tape at both ends of the deflector, and then partially peel them before inserting the visor into the window channel. Peel the rest of the tape after complete insertion. Make sure, though, that you clean the rubber surface of the window channel before installing the visor.
Your windows might still be ‘adjusting’ to the contraption you’ve added. This is particularly true for windows equipped with a sensor that detects any obstruction that gets in the way of the window glass. In some cases, the molding in the window will need some time to accommodate the added thickness of the visor.
