The power window in the Chrysler Town & Country stops halfway when being lowered, what could be the possible cause of this, and how can this be fixed?
A power window works similar to the manual system, in the sense that the motors rotate in order to open or close the window. Their only difference is that a power window uses a button, and electrical impulses, to operate the motor--instead of the previously popular hand crank. In this light, when the power window won't open fully, the possible cause of this might be that the motor accumulated foreign particles that could be blocking its rotation. This problem can easily be repaired by dismantling the door latch, and cleaning the teeth of the motor.

In this setup, a braided steel cable is supported by plastic guides, and is anchored to the window support bracket. Through frequent use, the cable will eventually fray the plastic components until they lose their attachment. The steel cable then will become misaligned. As a result, the signal coming from the power window button cannot travel fast enough to translate the command into a stable physical action.
