They work as intended. Some tricks: briefly heat guides in boiling water to bend around edge of glass without cracking the plastic. Then close the little snap button thru the glass hole with careful pressure by a long nose vise grip. Reinstall glass and fit guides in window channels, then use longer (metric) bolts to line up holes in inner and outer sash with holes in glass.
