Q:Does this contain the micro switch that communicates with alarm, door locks, etc? We have an intermittent issue with our 2001 Beetle. The alarm goes off randomly when the car is locked. It is fine if it isn’t locked. Mechanic said it needed a new micro switch but quoted $420 to fix. I can handle installing this if it’s the right part. Show Less

We cannot guarantee you this part comes with the micro switch. It is possible that chip is on the main door switch(front driver side switch) of your vehicle not on the door lock actuator. We recommend referring to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual for details about this problem or much better to consult with your trusted local dealership for that specific detail about the micro switch for a careful troubleshooting and diagnostic procedure to identify the problem accurately.
