A:BEST ANSWERHi Eric, The basic relays contain electromagnetic coil wire and iron core, hinge armature, spring, yoke, insulator and the relay plastic casing. There is no integrated IC but on some it may come with the IC depending on the type of relay. The relay's basic purpose is to automate this power to switch electrical circuits on and off at particular times. Show less
