Hello, would you replace the Part Number: REPC582905 which I purchased from you recently with this one? This is for the right side of a 1998 Ranger XLT (extended cab) tailgate. The cheaper version was supposed to be a replacement, but it is too small and flimsy (and actually fell out after installation at a garage). Both are supposed to do the same thing, but the 582905 fails. Please advise me, or send your Manufacturer #38641 as a replacement. Thank you. William AyresWillliam A.Nov 13, 2021

This comes in packaging claiming ford and dodge. Direct fitment for a 1997 Dodge 3500 was claimed on this webpage. The round insert with the slot which is intended for the right tailgate hinge does not come even close to fitting. when you do manage to get it into the right side hinge, the fitment is so tight it pinches the slot down so much it will not slide over the post. Opened it up with a dremel tool and it still would not fit as the slot does not allow the post to seat all the way in, again broke out the dremel tool and made it work. I am guessing it will not last long after all the alteration needed to make it fit.
