Below I have included two images of the main issue. The one with dirt on it is the old, original taillight and the clean one with yellow marks is the new taillight. This piece prevented it from securely attaching to its corresponding slot. I had to manually saw part of that piece off with a pocket knife in order to get it to fit snug.
Aside from that, the taillight fit to par and functions properly. While the installation took longer than i expected due to that issue, I’m still glad to finally have a working taillight again.
