Can these bushings be installed without disconnecting the sway bar ends? In other words are the bushings split?Ian M.Mar 21, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Ian, I'm glad to assist you. In most cases, replacing sway bar bushings does require disconnecting the sway bar end links from the control arms or struts. Most sway bar bushings are not split and form a complete loop around the sway bar. Disconnecting the end links creates slack in the system, allowing the sway bar to be moved slightly and providing enough space to slide the old bushing out and the new bushing in. The less common is the split bushing type. These split bushings might allow for installation without disconnecting the end links.
