Shopping for Plymouth Sundance Parts

From the Chrysler's division that was established during the time when Americas was hit by worst depression, Plymouth offered, low priced vehicles at the same time building cars with freedom, endurance, strength, and ruggedness. But Chrysler's effort to promote their new brand as such, remained invisible to the consumer.

Plymouth started weak, selling pitifully against big names such as Ford, Cadillac, and Dodge. Nonetheless, this Chrysler division continued to create the cars of their own. Thus in 1987, Plymouth introduced their new model by the name of Plymouth Sundance. The Sundance looked like the Dodge Shadow. They sat on the same subcompact platform with the same front wheel drive built. This sporty 4-door hatchback was soon followed by a two-door hatchback.

The 1987 edition of the Sundance housed two engines: 2.2-liter 4 cylinder engine rated at 93 horsepower pushed the base model, while the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated 100 horsepower or 150 horsepower turbocharged versions were the optional. Another standard on the three Sundance versions was the 5-speed manual transmission. An optional 3-speed automatic was an option.

The 1990 Plymouth Sundance received the standard driver side airbag, while the 1991 edition possessed a brand new look. It wore the "America" label which was also used in Dodge's Omi and Plymouth Horizon. Sundance was offered in three trims in 1991: American, Highline, and RS. The America came with 93-horsepower 4 cylinder engine and an uncarpeted trunk, while the RS was offered with an optional turbocharged engine that can produce 210 pound-feet of torque.

A year later, the Sundance RS model was dropped while the Sundance highline received some body modifications. The Sundance America was unchanged during this year. The 1993 Plymouth Sundance had the new antilock brakes optional to all models that did not offered to the previews years. The base model America was replaced by a more powerful Duster housing a 141-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine under its hood. The 1994 year for the Sundance faced a gradual phase out. It is because the arrival of the new Neon at the production line began. The Plymouth Sundance finally took a rest in 1994.
