These are a great price vs Ford OEM parts. However, they don't work as well. My stock sensors would start beeping at 6 feet from the object. After 205,000 miles I got really used to that. The new ones don't start sensing until the truck is between 4 and 5 feet from the object. The reason I specify between 4 and 5 feet is because I ran about 30 backup tests and the initial contact beep was inconsistent: it changed with almost every test. I also moved the target from the driver side, to middle and finally to the passenger side of the truck to see how they compared to the OEM units. Similar to OEM, as the target moves out of the sweet spot (center of truck) the detection distance decreases the further left or right that you are in relation to the target. All that said, while OEM performance is preferred, the price savings over OEM more than makes up for the shorter distance.
