A car with good handling approaches and gets past corners and bends with grace. This kind of cornering behavior is only achievable with a quality suspension system. One important component of this system is the sway bar link. This metal tube connects the sway bar to the control arm or the axle housing, and it has bushings and brackets that make the sway bar connected securely to the rest of the suspension. A functional sway bar system ensures good handling, especially when cornering. So if you want to have a better ride, installing a quality sway bar link like one from Moog is advisable. But before getting one, let us see first if a Moog sway bar link will be worth your time and money.

We tested this component on a Nissan Sentra and a Lexus GS, and here is what we have to say:
Thumbs up
- Installing the component was not that difficult. We actually did it without jacking up the car, for that was the recommended method in order to keep the sway bar link connections properly tightened. The wrench flats at the end links really helped in fastening the nuts to the proper torque.
- The sway bar links looked solid, and they were actually thicker than the original ones that the Sentra and the GS had. The links were strong enough and looked that they would not snap when doing some abrupt steering.
- The sway bar links could pivot well by hand, so they would surely be able to absorb the stress from the sway bar.
- The product came pre-greased. The grease fittings allowed the free movement of the ball joint inside the socket. These fittings would allow for the link connections to be greased from time to time, which would prolong the life of the component.
- During our drive with each car, we experienced a better handling, especially when cornering. Each car did not lean much when turning to the left or right. The link connected the rest of the suspension to the control arm, making for a more stable ride.
Thumbs down
- Moog sway bar links are on the expensive end of the price spectrum. Some units are even twice as much as those from other brands like Mevotech and Beck Arnley.
The verdict
This component performed well during our test, but still, you will only know its quality based from how long it is able to service your car. It has a good construction and features, but the only downside is the expensive price and the lack of specific warranty.
