Shopping for Saturn Mirror
Repairing a mirror highly depends on the severity of the damage. You may just replace the mirror glass without needing to change the mirror housing. However, for major accidents, you may have to replace the whole unit. Fixing a Saturn mirror is easy and can be done on your own.

Things you'll need:
- Glass cleaner
- Lint-free cloth
- Rags
- Safety glasses

Step 1:To repair a Saturn mirror, determine whether you have to replace just the mirror glass or the whole assembly. If you just need to change the mirror glass, start disposing the broken pieces of glass. Be careful not to break the glue bond or any glass glued to it. Just remove the loose pieces.
Step 2:Using the appropriate cleaning materials and products, clean the remaining glass to remove any dirt or grime that may weaken the bond with the adhesive for the new glass. Let the residual cleaner dry for a few minutes before continuing.
Step 3:Since the new Saturn mirror glass has a double-sided adhesive stuck at the back, you can immediately position the new glass so that it is at the center of the mirror housing. Make sure that the new glass has completely covered the old mirror and has even space all around it to allow the mirror to move freely. Press the new mirror to the old one firmly to activate the adhesive.
Step 4:With a bunched up paper or towel, wipe across the surface of the new glass to remove any dirt and streaks.
Step 5:In case you need to also repair or replace the mirror housing, you need to take off the trim panel from inside the door first. Keep in mind to do the repainting of the new housing while it is not yet installed. This way, it is easier to prepare, prime, and paint the mirror housing, as well as to avoid damaging the body of your Saturn.
Step 6:To start removing the old housing, find the hidden fasteners of the panel and mirror mount cover. Usually, the door panel is secured by screws and clips that are concealed under the armrest or behind the door latch lever. However, if your Saturn mirror does not have a remote adjustment, you do not need to take off the door panel, only the mirror mount cover has to be removed. This cover is typically just snapped in position or held by a screw.
Step 7:When the screws and clips of the door panel are taken out, carefully remove the panel and set aside. The rubber gasket trim of the window will come loose when the panel is removed.
Step 8:Next, detach the power connector, which regulates the movement of the mirror. Make sure to secure the connector to prevent it from slipping inside the door.
Step 9:With all the wirings and connectors disconnected, hold on to the housing while you loosen the screws. Dispose the old housing.
Step 10:Install the new mirror housing exactly the reverse way you removed the old one. Make sure to secure the connectors, screws, and clips properly. Test the mirror adjustment first before installing the trim.
