I am considering the AC25ER-S Kool Vue passenger side mirror for my 2012 Acura TSX which is black.   I wanted to know if the mirror as shipped must be painted in order to protect it from weathering or if I could just install it as shipped?   Also, is the base color just a flat black?  Thank you.RONALD R.Apr 18, 2021

Part worked great. I initially bought the part and took it to a shop for them to install. They did not want to install fearing it may not work. they wanted me to buy the oem part which was several hundred dollars more. i ended up watching a you tube vid and installed myself and everything works perfectly.
