Best Answer:Hi Arvin, I'm glad to assist you. Some strut assemblies have a manual release mechanism to allow for easier installation. It could be a button, lever, or clip that needs to be activated before mounting the strut. Consult the owner's manual of your vehicle for specific steps to do. Perfect fit. Was easy to install. Both parts are universal. So you cant go wrong installing. Make sure you remove from the truck body first then the lift gate for easier install.
