Named CEO and director of CarParts.com in April 2022, David Meniane is responsible for providing sound strategic, financial, and operational leadership for the organization. Prior to this year, David served as CarParts.com’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer – a dual role he held since March 2019.
Under his leadership at CarParts.com, the company has undergone a comprehensive operational turnaround with record financial growth. As a result of David’s guidance, CarParts.com is currently – and has been – on firm financial footing. The company has achieved eight consecutive quarters of year over year growth, doubling the size of the business in just three years. David drives home the company’s commitment to connecting with employees and customers alike, creating the strongest business possible. He has hired more than 800 people in 2020 and 2021, and the firm now has over 2,000 employees globally.
David’s tenure is reflected in the opening of four brand new distribution centers as well as the implementation of an entirely refreshed supply chain technology stack. With a focus on data-driven decisions and a metrics-based management style, the company has been able to navigate global supply chain disruptions as well as an inflationary environment using newly built world-class data science and inventory forecasting capabilities. David is known for his people-first culture and driving performance out of existing teams both onshore and offshore.
David comes with more than a decade of experience in consumer-packaged goods and retail execution. David holds a BS in Accounting and a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Southern California. He currently maintains an active CPA license in the state of California. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 16 years, Deborah, and their two beautiful daughters.
Chairman of the Board
Warren B. Phelps III has been a director since September 2007 and Chairman of the Board since August 2017. Since January 2013, he has served as Executive Chairman of Empower RF Systems, a developer and manufacturer of high power RF amplifiers for the defense and commercial markets. Warren joined the Board of Empower in February 2007, and served as its Chairman and CEO from October 2009 to January 2013. Since May of 2017, Warren has also served on the Board of Luna Innovations, a developer and manufacturer of high-speed optical test products for the commercial and defense markets. From 2000 until his retirement in September 2006, Warren served in several executive positions for Spirent Communications plc, a leading communications technology company, most recently as President of the Performance Analysis-Broadband Division. From 1996 to 2000, Warren was at Netcom Systems, a provider of network test and measurement equipment, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, Warren held executive positions, including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at MICOM Communications, and various financial management roles at Burroughs/Unisys Corporation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Lawrence University.
Warren holds a B.S. degree in mathematics from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and an M.B.A. from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
We believe that Warren is qualified to serve as both a Board member and as the financial expert of our Audit Committee due to his extensive experience as a President and Chief Executive Officer of a variety of companies in the technology industry, as well as his experience in financial management roles, including the creation and oversight of internal controls, preparation of financial statements, and coordination of the audits for public companies.
Director
Henry Maier has been a director since April 2021. Since 2013, Henry has been President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Ground, a $16.6 billion subsidiary of FedEx Corp. As the leader of FedEx Ground, he has developed a deep and strong skill set relating to strategy development and execution. Prior to assuming this role in 2013, Henry held various other senior executive roles in the areas of marketing, communications and strategic planning.
Henry holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan. He also holds board positions with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, and Kansas City Southern (KCS), a publicly traded transportation holding company with railroad investments in the U.S., Mexico and Panama.
We believe Henry is qualified to serve on the Board due to his extensive executive leadership skills, which will strengthen the Board’s ability to oversee the execution of our Company’s strategy and his extensive leadership experience within the logistics and transportation industry.

In addition to serving as CIO for USSOCOM – where she oversees a $1.2 billion budget and an IT system including cloud infrastructure, mobility, satellite and terrestrial communications, and DevSeCops agile software development supporting artificial intelligence and machine learning – Dr. Costa was a member of multiple Defense Science Boards, invented the first fully spherical immersive digital video system, and has advised Presidential Transition Teams on national security issues. She served on the board of Hire Our Heroes and has advised Fortune 500 companies, including Target, Hilton, Starbucks, Cheniere, and FedEx, on data analytics and cybersecurity. She is also an honoree of the James Schlesinger Award for Service to Our Nation.

Nanxi Liu is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Enplug, a leading digital display software company used by Fortune 500 companies, and was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 and Fortune's 10 Most Promising Women Entrepreneurs. Nanxi also serves on the Board of Advisors for Covington Capital, which manages $3 billion, and is a Partner at XFactor Ventures, where she invests in women-founded startups. In 2019, Nanxi was appointed as one of five voting members to the California Department of Motor Vehicles' New Motor Vehicle Board.

Jay K. Greyson was appointed Director on June 17, 2014. Jay currently serves as Co-Founder, Partner, Managing Director, and Principal of Supply Chain Equity Partners, a committed capital private equity fund dedicated exclusively to the distribution and supply chain industry. Jay also currently serves as Managing Director and Principal for Vetus Partners, an investment bank, and as Chief Compliance Officer of Vetus Securities, a registered broker dealer. Before co-founding Supply Chain Equity Partners, Jay established and led practice groups at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, a regional investment banking firm. Over his career, Jay has held various operating company roles, including General Manager, National Sales Manager, Product Manager, and Marketing Manager, as well as having served on a number of boards.
Jay holds a B.S. degree from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Jim Barnes currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of enVista, LLC, a supply chain and unified commerce consulting firm, where he has served since he co-founded enVista in 2002. Prior to founding enVista, he was the Executive Vice President and co-founder of Q4 Logistics. He has spent the last 25 years deploying supply chain and enterprise solutions and synchronizing material and information flow for Fortune 500 brands and retail companies.
Jim holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.

Ms. Dutra has served as a director of CarParts.com since January 2022. She founded Mandala Global Advisors, Inc., a provider of advisory services to boards and management to accelerate business growth through innovation, globalization, M&A and turnaround strategies, in 2013 and currently serves as its Chief Executive Officer. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of The Executives’ Club of Chicago, a world-class senior executives organization focused on the development, innovation and networking of current and future business and community leaders, from 2014 until 2018. Prior to that she was Chief Executive Officer of Korn/Ferry Consulting from 2007 until 2013. She has served as a member of the board of directors of First Internet Bancorp since May 2020, CME Group Inc. (Nasdaq:CME) since January 2015, and Health, Harvest & Recreation, Inc. (NCSX:HARV) since 2014 until its acquisition in September 2021.
