Best Answer:Hi Gary, I'm glad to assist you. No. You do not need to remove the steering wheel. You have to remove the steering column cover. Then insert the key into the cylinder and turn it to the "On" position. It will allow you to push the release pin located on the underside of the lock cylinder housing. Press the release pin and pull out the lock cylinder from the housing. Install the new lock cylinder by inserting it into the housing and turning the key to the "On" position.
