As the temperature rises, the sensor becomes more electrically conductive. It is usually a two-wire sensor that has one wire supplying voltage to the PCM, while the other is a ground.
P0097 Code: Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT) Sensor 2 Circuit Low (Bank 1)To be specific, this code may be logged once the PCM detects that the air temperature reading in sensor #2 is unusually high (causing low voltage resistance) when the engine temperature is low.
