A:BEST ANSWERHi Tracy, I'm pleased to assist you. Though your engine will run okay, it will not run as well as it should, with a bad IAT Sensor. The engine computer cannot process all the needed information properly. There would be engine stalling, rough idling, engine stumbling, and random surges of power are commonly associated with IAT sensor failure. These are concerning symptoms, and they can only worsen with time. It is best to replace the part early on to not affect any other parts. P0097 Code: Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT) Sensor 2 Circuit Low (Bank 1)To be specific, this code may be logged once the PCM detects that the air temperature reading in sensor #2 is unusually high (causing low voltage resistance) when the engine temperature is low. Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that contains the #1 cylinder.
