Diagnosing your Kia Rio Headlights
Headlights have been ubiquitous on cars since the dawn of the automotive era. Today, these components on a modern car have not changed too much from their predecessors. In fact, the core function of headlights remains unchanged throughout its history-it keeps the road well-lit and visible in even the darkest or stormiest of nights. And in case you didn't know, it's actually a felony to drive around with your lights busted. Fortunately, your Kia Rio headlights let you know far in advance when they're near conking out. You just have to pay attention and be ready to address the issues as they come.
Blurred or poor lighting
Before you jump the gun upon seeing that your headlights are a bit too dim and think that the wiring is all messed up, make sure you check the state and condition of the lens first. Many times, Blurred or poor lighting performance is the fault of dirty or un-cleaned lenses. True, sometimes it is the fault of the electrical system, but it pays to go through the parts one by one. If indeed it proves to be a wiring problem, check under the hood to see whether or not there is any physical damage to the wires-maybe one or more are worn down and exposed. No lights at all

If you notice any dings, scratches, or cracks, then it's time to maybe consider replacing them-repairing them only leaves them more fragile. The next thing to check is the seal around each lens where the lens meets the frame of the car. This is important because it is responsible for keeping water and other harmful substances out and away from your headlights' interior. If you notice any breaks, it's time to reseal it with some putty.
Clean and clean thoroughly
Part of the effectiveness of the headlights lies in the clarity of the lens. Never allow dirt and mud to build up on the surface of the lens as they will block the passage of the light-rendering your headlights useless. Clean it as often as you can. Warm water and some soap with a clean rag will do. You can also use window cleaner that is specifically formulated for clear, translucent surfaces. After washing, make sure that you dry them very carefully as any left over water will ironically attract more dirt.
