Q:This product has a minimum of 9 volts?  Will this work on a six volt system? Show Less
Stephen C.
A:BEST ANSWERHi Stephen, I'm pleased to assist you. A 9-volt headlight may not work properly on a 6-volt system. The voltage difference can affect the brightness and functionality of the headlight. I suggest calling our parts specialists at 1-866-529-0412 to provide the vehicle information so we can help you look for the right part. Have a nice day. Show less

Q:I recently damaged my drivers side headlight and need to replace the whole assembly. Looking at the picture, this looks very different from other items I have seen on the internet. Is this the entire assembly or just part? I have a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander ES. Doing the repair myself will save me a lot of trouble so I'm hoping this is the entire assembly. Show Less
K L.
A:BEST ANSWERHi K L, I'm glad to assist you. It is incompatible with your 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander (it is a universal type of sealed beam headlight for custom-built vehicles). We do not carry a direct-fit headlight set for your 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. Show less

Customer Guides

Headlights are equipment situated in pairs and attached to the front of vehicles for the purpose of illuminating the road ahead for drivers to see. This is especially so during periods of low or zero visibility like storms, downpours, blizzards and sundown itself. In situations such as these, drivers are rendered incapacitated as far as good judgment is concerned.

It is the headlights which help them navigate through darkness and gloom, the same contraption depended on as far as the safety of passengers is concerned. Headlights are either of the sealed beam type or the halogen type. They can be switched between two modes or configurations - low beams and high beams. High beam headlights cast more light at a higher angle. The advantage of using these devices is that they allow drivers to see further away as their vehicles run on darkened roads and highways.

Like all the other vehicles that roam the planet, Ford Contour vehicles use headlights to be able to make everything easy for vehicle drivers. These headlights are superb, high-quality headlights specifically engineered for the use of Ford Contour vehicles. Developed for the purpose of lessening the risk of crashes and accidents, these devices give Ford Contour owners the best performance they could ever hope to give. This they do by shining at the right angle, emitting just the right amount of illumination so as not to blind other drivers, and staying serviceable even after a long period of time.

Ford Contour headlights are capable of keeping up with anything, even bad weather. It does not matter whether Ford Contour Xenon headlights, Ford Contour projector headlights, Ford Contour blue headlights or Ford Contour euro headlights are the ones in use. Each one of these devices is a potential life saver, or so it is apparent. Ford Contour headlights simply exist to never let their guard down.

If a headlight bulb burns out, should the burned out bulb be the only one changed or should both bulbs be replaced?

Unless the headlight bulbs have some sort of defect or unless they've been exposed to corrosive elements, burned out light bulbs usually mean that they've reached the end of their natural life span. This usually means that it will not take terribly long until the other light bulb goes out. It is advisable to have both light bulbs changed when this happens. This will save many Contour owners the extra effort of buying the bulbs, preparing tools and actually repairing replacing the headlight.

Is it possible to change the color of the headlights?

It is possible but also illegal. Only white headlights are allowed according to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. Getting headlights of any other color is an invitation to get a traffic citation from the local policeman.

What are the two types of light beams emitted by headlights?

Low beams are the default lighting mode of a vehicle. The beams of light are pointed downwards, and the light concentrated mostly to the right to better illuminate the lane that the vehicle is in. Low beams are used mostly when driving through a well lighted area or roads with a good amount of traffic. High beams throw a centered light straight ahead at eye level with both lamps giving off the same light intensity. High beams are useful when travelling through dark rural roads with little traffic. It is common courtesy to switch to low beams when a car is approaching from the other lane so that they are not blinded by the bright beams of light.

Will installing aftermarket headlights in a new Ford Contour void any warranties?

No warranties are voided when installing new headlights and almost any other aftermarket automobile product for that matter under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Care should still be taken when installing new headlights since automobile manufacturers will not cover damage done as a result of installing aftermarket products.
