Tip #1: Disconnect the wiring.
It's easy to forget that the headlight is an electric device, and you can get quite a shock if you touch the headlight assembly with it still connected to the battery.
So before you do anything, be sure to switch off the engine and disconnect the battery cables from the terminals. We also recommend using insulated gloves and pliers when detaching the headlight wires and other electrical components.
