Reasons behind Defective Mazda Rx7 Headers

Faded and dingy headers

Simply check for a large graphite gasket or a metal ball and socket-type flange between the manifold and the header pipe and inspect if there are signs of leakages. You can easily tell if they are defective if there's carbon buildup or discoloration.
Transporting engine exhaust gases and dampening exhaust gas sound is made possible with a set of fully functional headers. These headers are crafted from durable steel tubing, which are attached to the sides of the auto's engine. But, even with specially crafted and solid tubings, the Mazda Rx7 headers are still prone to wear and tear. Tighten the header bolts.
To maintain an even seating for the headers and prevent the bolts to become loose, allot time for keeping the header bolts tight. In fact, there are several ways to perform this tightening procedure. You can use a special locking bolt from a speed shop, an inside serrated washer, or through the use of a Loctite. Luckily, these tools are available in your local auto supply store.
