Hello , I have put a plastic inline filter on my Plymouth Fury 1977 model . The fuel just seems to drain back to the tank when the engine has sat over night. Do I need a special type of fuel filter , perhaps one that doesn't allow the fuel to drain back down to the tank ? I know the mechanical pump is working. DaveNorm_zzzNov 05, 2020
Best Answer:Hi David,This ac delco is the original factory OEM fuel filter. This should not have problems functioning on your vehicle. If your fuel pump is working fine and your fuel lines are not clogged the filter would simply do its job of filtering the fuel or gasoline as it is designed to accomplish. A considerable amount of fuel/gasoline is stored on the fuel filter itself as buffer. once the engine is turned on, the fuel pump does it's work of pumping fuel to the fuel lines going to the in-line filter on the engine.
