Product Information

OEMTOOLS FEELER GAUGE

The OEMTOOLS Standard Ignition Spark Plug Gap Gauge is ideal for measuring and setting spark plug gaps from 0.025" (0.640 mm) to 0.045" (1.140 mm). It includes a round gauge with 6 precision wire sizes in inches and millimeters with an electrode adjuster. Inch sizes are stamped on the front and metric sizes on the back. Remember, most modern cars use just a few spark plug gaps sizes and you can usually buy spark plugs pre-gapped to these specifications. However, if you're conscientious, it might be worth measuring the gaps on these pre-gapped plugs before installing them, just to be safe. CAUTION: Before you perform any serious engine repair (such as replacing or re-gapping spark plugs), first disconnect your battery lead to protect you from shock. Spark plug repair, replacement, and re-gapping are all relatively simple procedures, though some engines are certainly easier to work on than others. If you're not comfortable doing the work on your own, professional mechanics do this sort of work every day.
