Question: 02 Silverado, 5.3.  Engine died while driving, cranks, but won't start.  Fuel pump fine, battery fine, alternator fine...could this be it?  Thank you!Anthony R. / May 12, 2021 / 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500Crankshaft Position Sensor
Hi Arob, I'm glad to help you out. If the crankshaft position sensor or its wiring has any issues, it can cause the crankshaft signal to be cut off while the engine is running, which can cause the engine to stall. This is usually a sign of a wiring problem. However, a bad crankshaft position sensor can also produce this symptom. I hope this helps. Question: Hi. I have a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali 5.3 4wd Starts after a few cranks. Run fine for about 5 minutes  than shuts off. will crank over but will not start. After about 15 + minutes it will start runs bad Intermitting ignition Back firing. My code read showed Crank position sensor..  If I replace it will I need to relearn?Michael S. / Mar 23, 2023 / 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500Crankshaft Position Sensor
Hi Michael, I'm pleased to assist you. Yes, it is recommended to relearn the crankshaft position sensor on your whenever it is replaced. If you don't relearn the crankshaft position sensor, the ECU may not know the exact position of the crankshaft and host some problems. There are several videos on YouTube and Google with step-by-step instructions. Just type in "How to relearn crankshaft position sensor 2006 GMC Envoy Denali" in the search field. No in park slowly run your RPMs gradually up to three grand a couple times then get it on the road and drive it up to 40 mph hold it there for a little while and then drive up to 60 hold it there for a little while and you can drive up faster that and hold it there for a little while and then shut it off park it repeat the process and it should relearn it. You probably won't have to do that I've never had to do it after replacing them

Yes it should fix this issue if not could be the distributor sensor and if non of that works could be computer issue
