I think it was the right part for my 2012 VW Golf, very quick and easy to install (did it during a lunch break at work). No adhesive necessary as it includes the backing. That said, the orientation of prongs for heating are different than stock (unless mine already had aftermarket glass without my knowledge) and so I had to sort of guess which connection went where. Guess we'll see if it heats.
