I have a 2011 Infiniti G37X Sedan AWD and need the shock boot. The OEM have a covered flat top. Are the SB103 open on top or covered. I had ordered the SB123 and they won't work because of the cone shaped top?Preston C.Apr 28, 2021
Best Answer:Hi Preston, I'm glad to help you out. These KYB SB103 strut boots do come with a flat covered top. And these are compatible with the 2011 Infiniti G37 X AWD models. I hope this helps, and you can click on the link below for direct ordering to take advantage of our ongoing sale. Happy shopping. https://www.carparts.com/shock-and-strut-boot/kyb/kysb103?can=CPAE1047

Are these boots a requirement when replacing shocks and struts?MIKE D.May 04, 2022
Best Answer:Hi Michael, I'm pleased to assist you. Yes. The strut boots keep out road debris, dirt, and other contaminants that can easily stick to the piston rod's oily surface while the vehicle is in motion. A strut boot prevents these contaminants from building up and triggering corrosion. Click on the link below to order at 43% off the regular price today while supplies last. I hope this is helpful. Customer Reviews

Boots should come free with new struts. These rear strut boots were the same size as the fronts even though the springs were smaller in the rear. The fit was very tight and the spring compressors mangled them a little. They didn't rip but might wear over time rubbing on the spring. The bump stop was very hard to slide over the collar on the end of the shaft. From a company with great quality, I was expecting more. Not sure how this mistake can be passed over.

I bought these expecting a rubber or polyurethane bumper I really don't know what I got but it is not made of rubber or polyurethane. To me it appears to be made out of some type of foam, may be a little better then Styrofoam. You can squish the bumper with your hand I can only imagine what the weight of a vehicle would do to the bumper. I don't feel that this is something that I would ever think about installing on anybody's vehicle. Another thing is the Leigh is to short the factory bumpers are about 3/4" longer. I think all these so called bumpers do is hold the bellows on the strut. I don't see how they could possibly take the shock of the cars weight and hold up. Needless to say I will not be installing these on my Rav4.
