Yo, everybody! Listen to this. If you know how to do brakes, or just handy and know you can do it... here's what you do: get the rotor and ceramic pads kit(s) for your vehicle, at the price/performance point you like. watch a couple videos and put these on. You'll get a low dust, low rust, high longevity, great set of brakes. On this vehicle, I did the fronts at around 70k miles, lasted 50k? Then the mistake: took it to the local chain. THEIR job squeaked out the door...lived with it a couple years, then the mis-diagnosed the back brakes, then 2 yrs later, they want to RE-DO all four wheels. --->Okay, I am back on the straight an narrow, and doing it myself, the right way. Hear that...? Right, nothing; no squeaks. Rock solid from the outset. Currently at 160k miles; I'll never have to do the rear brakes again (maybe pads; redid parking/e brake), and I check back in a 200k for the fronts. Your mileage may vary... My only slight concern is that I hope the alloy in the rotors is as good as last time. Also did the fronts on a 13 Passat (backs soon when I have the $), and planning all around set on the The Black Jedi (Jetta ;) .
