Customer Reviews

The bolts on the vehicle that hold the stock catalytic converter are 1/2". This catalytic converter is just about identical in size and shape, however the original heat shield did not fit snugly over this new one. Also, the holes where you mount the catalytic converter were slightly under 1/2". I had to widen the holes before I could install it. All in all, I saved money that I would have spent taking it to the dealer, and I got some cool new power tools to show for it! The best part- p0420 went away instantly (after disconnecting the battery).

- functional replacement, it does work seemingly well - very poor fit and finish, die grinder needed to dress flanges to fit. This is not a stock quality weldment. You need to check carefully for loose metal shavings spatter and mig wire at all the bungs and near the cat. I found plenty of it rattling around. Catalyst was in great condition but there could be debris from cutting and welding. - upstream 02 is tilted at an angle, this causes minor clearance issues with the sensor and timing cover and strains the leads - slight loss of torque observed over a plugged stock cat...interesting. - stock heat shields will never fit without extensive persuasion and cutting and o2 locations will also not align. I installed it bare. Using an IR gun I read 300 degrees at the cat inlet, 270 degrees on the cat canister body and 600 degrees just aft of the cat canister. - this is an economy solution to an otherwise expensive problem and I accepted the trade offs listed above as reasonable burdens. I don't know whether the other economy cats are any better though.
