I was looking for a dashcap that would look as close to original as possible. The Accuform dashcap is smooth all the way across. My original dash has an indention for dash accessories, but I rarely used it anyway, so this difference was not important. The holes for the defroster vents were perfectly lined up. Because the position of the VIN display through the windshield varies from SAAB model to model, the Accuform dashcap will have to be hand trimmed before you glue it down. It is very easy to do with a pair of shears. I marked the position of the VIN on the windshield with tape, fit the dashcap and marked the tape position on the dashcap with pencil, took it out, trimmed and refit it with the silicone sealant included in the kit. Very easy! Instructions say that you can clean with any ammonia-based window cleaner, so that is a plus. I am totally happy with this purchase, and glad not to have to look at the cracks in the old dash. A real solution for those who love their old cars and want to keep them going forever.
